"Heill dagr!
Heilir dags synir!
Heil nótt ok nift!
Óreiðum augum
lítið okkr þinig
ok gefið sitjöndum sigr!
Heilir æsir!
Heilar ásynjur!
Heil sjá in fjölnýta fold!
Mál ok mannvit
gefið okkr mærum tveim
ok læknishendr, meðan lifum."
"Hail, day!
Hail, sons of day!
And night and her daughter now!
Look on us here
with loving eyes,
That waiting we victory win.
Hail to the gods!
Ye goddesses, hail,
And all the generous earth!
Give to us wisdom
and goodly speech,
And healing hands, life-long

This is our 9th Yule night discussion and we talk about Wyrd. We ramble on about death, life, your right to party and why we should. Oaths, boasts and toasts, oh my! And about luck individually and how one should expand on the community's luck.

This is our 7th Yule night discussion about Thor. Ok, discussion is kinda a stretch. We mostly give each other the giggles. Did we mention that we only got 3 hours of sleep after our Yule vigil? Yeah... this would not be one of our more serious discussions... but hopefully folks will find our amusement entertaining.

Our 6th Yule celebration night talking about Frith. Frith is so much more than just "good feelings" it's learning to work and live within the community and make decisions for the society's well being above your personal gain. It's about putting the community ahead of yourself.
We talk about Willhelm Groenbeck and suggest that you track that out-of-print book down.
Perhaps at the Heathengods website, but who knows?

Our 5th Yule celebration night talking about Community what it means to us and it's place within Asatru.
We started out with the Havamal Bellows translation.
1. Within the gates | ere a man shall go,
(Full warily let him watch,)
Full long let him look about him;
For little he knows | where a foe may lurk,
And sit in the seats within.
2. Hail to the giver! | a guest has come;
Where shall the stranger sit?
Swift shall he be who, | with swords shall try
The proof of his might to make.
3. Fire he needs | who with frozen knees
Has come from the cold without;
Food and clothes | must the farer have,
The man from the mountains come.
4. Water and towels | and welcoming speech
Should he find who comes, to the feast;
If renown he would get, | and again be greeted,
Wisely and well must he act.
5. Wits must he have | who wanders wide,
But all is easy at home;
At the witless man | the wise shall wink
When among such men he sits.

Our 4th Yule celebration night talking about Frigga as the Goddess with the knowledge of where all the bodies are and the understanding to not talk about it. Which explains why exactly EVERYTHING promised to not hurt Balder or almost everything...
Frigga
Wisest of the Goddesses, Husband of Odin, Patron of the Longabards
You who gained the protection of all for your son.
All but the forlorn mistletoe
Most powerful but most powerless on that day.
The greatest sport of throwing became the greatest loss
All weap for lost Balder.
Hail Frigga!
