Episode 42 - Building a name for your Kindred, an ECT class by Joe Marek

Joe Marek, founder of Gladsheim Kindred in the Washington DC area, was kind enough to allow us to record his very insightful class at East Coast Thing this year. Joe's class touches on a subject that Dave and I find very important, reputation. Not just personal but group reputation. Joe touches on key points anyone looking for a group or looking to start a group should have in mind. There is alot here that speaks to the reputation within the Asatru community and the general community at large. I'm sure you'll find it as though provoking as we did.

enjoy!

  1. Great podcast. Joe presented a lot of good points to take into consideration.

  2. Which part of Maine are we supposed to move to? My husband just got accepted to school in Biddeford. We will be moving there from Phoenix in August.

  3. I’m involved in starting a new kindred so was excited to see this topic. Unfortunately the sound quality was so poor it all just sounded like quiet mumbling and I couldn’t make out anything he was saying.

If you’re going to record lectures at this year’s ECT for broadcast maybe you should consider having the speakers use a microphone.

  4. Sorry you found it so bad.

We do what we can with recording and editing to make it as good as we are able to do. I’m hopeful for more Skype recordings in the future, which come out beautifully.

  5. I don’t think it was so bad, just turn the speaker up a little. Joe and the people present had a lot of greatn things to say, whihc may seem very basic, but they have lasted the test of time so to speak and they have made the East Coast and Northeast community strong and the force it is today.
