  3. it was a great podcast but I was a little frustrated that you did not clearly distinguish between Ethics and Morals. The two are linked but morality is more definitely in the religious sphere, while ethics were correctly identified as more culturally related.

  4. No dispute. As noted in our preamble to the interview, we had some after the fact concerns with definitions. The major problem was that Ethics is just too big a topic. Next time (and there will be a next time) we will likely take on a smaller chunk of the issue. I expect much more in depth results.

  5. Thank you for posting this podcast on Ethics. I agree that it is difficult to navigate ethics and morality.

    I have had a great deal of respect for the nine noble virtues as a basis for living a worthwhile and meaningful life. I am atheist so you might think (on the basis of numbers alone!) I would object to heathenry more than monothiestic beliefs. But quite the reverse, from my readings I find much more resonance with the heathen worldview. Frith, Wyrd and the innate spirtuality of all things match my feelings of the unity, harmony and conectedness of this world. I find the dualities and dichotomies of the monotheists religions to be not evidenced in the way the world is.

    I am actively expanding my understanding of paganism to get more insights. I am using this knowledge to build a synthesis with secularism and a naturalistic (i.e. non-supernatural) outlook.

    In the hope of getting feed back I have started documenting my thoughts on this in a new blog at secularodinism.wordpress.com

    If you have any thoughts on the validity or othrwise of a secular approach to heathenry I’d be glad to hear your comments.
